TEMPORARY RETAIL PERMITS

Effective October 13, 2010 - New applicants at locations without a current liquor license may apply for a temporary permit to serve alcohol while their application in pending. The temporary permit is valid for 90 days, and may be extended for additional 30 day periods if necessary. This process is similar to the existing process for obtaining a temporary permit when purchasing an existing business with an active liquor license. Please note, temporary permits are NOT available for wine or liquor stores, applications that fall under the 500 Foot Law, or for applicants in New York City.
