The purpose of Brand Label Registration is to ensure that labels sold in New York are in compliance with both State and Federal labeling regulations.
Brand Label Registration is required for all liquor, beer, cider, wine products, and wine specialties sold in NY. It is also required for wines containing 7% alcohol or less. While wine over 7% alcohol does not require registration, it does require submission of an appointment letter and Federal label approvals.
Questions, as well as wine appointment letters and the COLAs for the wines listed on the letters, may be emailed to Brand.Label@sla.ny.gov.
All wine appointment letters and COLAs must be submitted in .pdf format.
Documents submitted via USPS or alternate carriers must be mailed to the following address:
NYS Liquor Authority Attn: Brand Label Registration 80 S. Swan St. Suite 900 Albany, NY 12210
